The Tree Is Lit! Pictures from Last Night’s Celebration

Last night neighbors and community members from the Lower 9th Ward bundled up and gathered to light a Christmas tree at the the landscape resource depot on Deslonde Street. A choir led the crowd in Christmas carols, children and adults shared hot chocolate, cupcakes and Christmas cookies and many people brought ornaments to hang on the tree.

The event was also a candlelight vigil for community advocate Pam Dasheill, who recently passed away. Make It Right announced that the resource depot would be named Pam’s Place in her memory.
