Help Families Come Home for the Holidays

“There’s no place like home” is a phrase we hear a lot in New Orleans. And it’s true. For the families who lost their homes, jobs, everything they owned and, in too many cases, even their loved ones, Christmas in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward is a special time. Many who were displaced and moved away frequently come home for the holidays to see their mothers, brothers, other relatives and friends who have returned to their beloved neighborhood.

Around this time, Make It Right gets more calls than usual from those out-of-towners yearning to be back home. We work every day to help them return to the neighborhood and purchase a safe, healthy, energy-efficient home at an affordable price.

But we can’t do this alone - we need help from generous people in New Orleans, in Louisiana and across the country who know the warmth that neighbors, family and a home can bring. Please give this holiday season - and help us “make it bright” for families in need.
